OUR METHOD

PPAD recognizes all studies conducted under the theme of “Islam and Psychology” as essential and meaningful. Taking into account the multi-layered mental health needs of Muslim individuals and communities, its activities are carried out as follows:

  1. Religious-cultural sensitivity–based practices, research in Muslim mental health, and conceptual-philosophical studies such as psycho-ontology are considered complementary directions. Studies are conducted with the recognition that all these areas are necessary rather than choosing one over another.
  2. Applied, theoretical, philosophical, and cultural contributions are brought together under one framework to develop a comprehensive perspective on the relationship between Islam and psychology.
  3. Psycho-ontological concepts are discussed within the context of Islam and psychology, contributing to the construction of theoretical foundations.
  4. Contemporary publications are produced that incorporate Islamic concepts and practices such as repentance and belief in the hereafter into psychotherapy processes and their effectiveness is evaluated.
  5. The association develops treatment models:
Both theoretical and applied work are carried out to develop religion- and    culture-sensitive treatment models, such as the 4T and TMTT approaches.
  6. Faith-based approaches are included in clinical practice:
Methods that respect religious and cultural sensitivities, such as consultations with religious scholars, are integrated into clinical practice.
  7. Educational programs are carried out: Educational activities include fundamental seminars for students, workshops that promote conceptual thinking, and advanced training programs.
