WHO ARE WE?

The Association for Psychology and Psychotherapy Research began its activities in February 2020 under the name Platform of Psychology in Islamic Thought. Over time, it institutionalized its research, training, and sharing-oriented activities, and since 2022, it has continued them under the framework of an official association.

The Association for Psychology and Psychotherapy Research is a volunteer-based organization that aims to examine theoretical discussions in the context of Islamic thought and modern science/psychology, as well as practical contributions regarding the use of concepts and practices from Islamic thought in psychotherapy. As part of this mission, it organize seminars, conferences, reading groups, and publish research.

The association brings together psychologists, psychotherapists, academics, and students committed to advancing knowledge and contributing to society through the perspective of Islamic psychology. It seeks to strengthen professional solidarity in the field of mental health, to encourage scientific production, and to contribute to making psychological approaches more compatible with cultural and religious/spiritual dimensions.
