M. Furkan Cinisli, a member of our team, delivered a speech titled “Multidimensional Conceptions of Human Beings in the Islamic Thought Tradition” at an event organized by the International Students of Islamic Psychology. In this speech, he addressed the multidimensional structure of conceptions of human beings in the Islamic thought tradition from various perspectives. In the presentation, he attempted to explain Islam’s multidimensional understanding of the human being using a metaphor.In his speech, he presented a comprehensive perspective encompassing the physical, spiritual, mental, and moral dimensions of the human being within the broad spectrum of Islamic thought. By going beyond the reductionist approaches of modern times, he highlighted how Islamic thought addresses the different aspects of the human being in a holistic manner.
